Webinar: Can AI Do Christian Counseling?

Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 7:00 PM until 8:00 PMEastern Daylight Time UTC -04:00

In a world where artificial intelligence is rapidly stepping into roles once reserved for human hearts and hands, many Christians are asking a deeply personal question: Can AI actually do Christian counseling?

The two core questions Dr. Bryan Maier will address are 1) What makes Christian counseling distinctly Christian and 2) Given this definition, to what degree could AI ever be able to provide it?

    What You’ll Walk Away With:

▪️ Current state of AI's role in counseling
▪️ Insight into what makes Christian counseling unique and to what degree AI can do this
▪️ Perspectives on AI’s future role in faith-based care

Whether you’re a pastor, licensed Christian counselor, seminary student, ministry leader, or simply curious about where technology and discipleship are headed, this session will challenge your assumptions and leave you better equipped to navigate the future of soul care.

Dr. Bryan Maier is Professor in the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Cairn University, where he has taught psychology and counseling since 2019. A licensed professional counselor in Pennsylvania with over 30 years of clinical experience, Dr. Maier maintains a small private practice specializing in marital issues, trauma, addiction, and pastoral counseling. He also serves as a consultant and supervisor for Cornerstone Counseling Ministries.

He holds a PsyD and M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton Graduate School, along with a Master of Divinity and Master in Biblical Counseling from Grace Seminary. Dr. Maier is the author of Forgiveness and Justice: A Christian Perspective (Kregel, 2017).
