FAFSA Waiver Form

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is designed to provide financial assistance to students with financial need. The application uses income and asset information from the student and parent(s) to measure that student’s financial need. A student with higher financial need may be eligible for a Federal Pell grant, Federal Direct subsidized loans, a State grant (depending on the state), and other University need-based Financial Aid.  

The FAFSA waiver form is for students and parents who collectively agree and assume that they have no financial need and will not be eligible for any need-based financial aid from the Federal or State government due to their current financial standing. If you and/or your parent(s) have never completed a FAFSA to determine your financial need, please consider completing one before submitting this form.

By signing below, I hereby acknowledge that I am waiving the FAFSA application and removing myself from the consideration of Federal, State, and University need-based financial aid. I understand that I may receive less financial aid than I would otherwise be eligible for through the completion of the FAFSA. I also realize that I am unable to borrow Federal Direct loans from the Department of Education and, if needed, I must borrow funds from a private bank or organization. I am fully aware that I may override this decision and complete the FAFSA to be reconsidered for need-based financial aid. If I decide to complete the FAFSA, I will notify the Financial Aid Team at Cairn University and complete the FAFSA application as soon as possible.
